Rainy days bring friends!

I was superdope excited to get a text message the other night.. I think it was Wednesday night from an old pal we’ll call Baxter. He’s in town for a conference that is work related but that work isnt’ paying for, AT ALL. Shows you how dedicated a person can be and I hope he does get rewarded for it down the line. It also shows how he isn’t stubborn since, back in the day of old Smack, I would have been all “wel f that then, if they’re not helping, I’m not going to learn more.” I know, amazingly flawed bitter logic, right? I was the king of it. I invited young Baxter to come to see the band Athlete with me (Factor wasn’t feeling well so he let me use his +1 and his… 1), but he had plans. I went with my pal Lipton! I haven’t seen him in ages and it was refreshing and really motivating to hear how much he LOVES his new job. Loves loves loves it. We met when he was in intern at theblue and after lots of pressure and dilligence he was hired on full time. I wont’ share the middle parts, but he moved on and I was afraid that I would hear him say “I should have stayed, life on the outside is no different” - however, the tune is a new one. He said he works long hours, but that it’s great work, new challenges every day - and that he knows there is so much more to learn even though each day teaches him something new. EVERY company needs a Lipton and I’m really proud of him for being proactive and finding a place where he’s well paid and happy as a baby burro on a hillside.
Wait just a minute, we’re talking about Baxter! Yeah, so as I was saying, before I was so rudely interrupted by myself, I haven’t seen Baxter in a good two years. AND! I love walking the Brooklyn Bridge, so I make that my go to tourist place to hit up. Plus, there’s pizza on the other end and nothing motivates me more than a hot steamy slice. I brought my camera because of the gloom - I figured the city and the bridge would look wonderfully scraggly on a day like yesterday -PLUS, Baxter’s lovely wife (who, by the way, might have one of the coolest jobs out there) said she wants to see some pictures on Flickr. Being the addict that I am, it was an easy order to fill. And here are some shots from yesterday:
heading over:

All in all, even though I was feeling under the weather, the cool crispy fog made me feel better and I was glad I didn’t wuss out and cancel ![]()

Hey! I’ve seen that guy before! I think he was in She’s the Man.
Holy crap, I really did just lick my computer screen.

‘Spooky Skyline’ is just an amazing picture..could be the cover a book…like a Pete Hamill book about the underbelly of Manhattan. Good stuff.
