I have always felt compelled to cook on sundays. I just have to - and it has to be something that requires lots of chopping of various veggies, arranging them on a plate and then marrying them with some meats and garlic and onion. mmmmmm YES. Chili in the winter is the BEST. Today I woke up late, but once I got my coffee in (my 1lb a week consumption worries both Factor and I), I was ready to get moving. I wanted to do something productive. I picked up around here, made a list, made an inspiration doodle (yes I’ll post it), and then when Factor returned from the gym we headed out to Bed Bath and Beyond. We made a quick stop in at Express. holy crap who designs for them right now. Or who is their buyer? The clothes.are.fug. The sacks are plastic gradient patent leather horror and don’t get me started on the vests. Bludgen me with Avril Lavigne.
Anyway. We hit Bed Bath and Beyond and brought home the MOTHERLODE of cleaning supplies. i’m so happy to finally have Clorox with bleach back in the house. We also got one of those little drop in fellow for the toilet so that it’s always sparkling clean. Like an Altoid for your terlit. We picked up one of the super squoziest “middle blanket”s that we both fell in love with at Melly Sade’s house after Dan’s 40th bday. It is so cozy! AND on the way back home, through Union Square, we saw a squirrel with a huge nut. He had that nut in his mouth and he was leaping from artwork to artwork and finally thought that burying it in between two paintings would work. Wait! no! He leapt off the paintings, ran over to the painter’s canvas sack, and stuff his little body in there. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. His little backside was popping up and down as he crammed the walnut in. Then, he popped his little head out and with his hands patted the opening of the bag closed around the contents.
Happy with his work, he skittered off, proud of his hiding place.
I planned on telling you about Trader joe’s, but I’ll save it for after I cook. And I’ll post pictures too.
YAY! I LOVE that. I once made Conrad watch a squirrel in CP for 20 minutes … he was just burying one nut (the squirrel, not the ‘rad) … and it *is* the cutest darned thing!
Best meal meal ever! Until next time. That squirrel was awesome. I was just telling someone about it.
