Rachel Ray is evil incarnate. I base this solely on her use of the word “sammy” instead of sandwich. It’s not even saving a damn syllable. And now Quiznos has picked up on this linguistic bastard child and brought out a line of “sammies”. Shoot me.

well my dear, to counter that, non of her 30 minute meals really takes 30 minutes. I too love the process of preparation, the smells of longer cooking, and all that. In fact, the only times where she really does have recipes that are sort of shortened are when you use tomato juice or already canned things becuase really, unless you unemployed or a kept women, it’s hard to cook on the weeknights.

I love all foods that taste yummy so length of time towards either end doesn’t bother me. It doesn’t have to take 8 hours to make something yummy!

It usually takes me a good 20 minutes to slice an onion successfully anyway.

So, I’m gonna break up the Rachel Ray LoveFest going on here!
I’m a Rachel Ray hater. BUT, I have to say that my hate is not really related to her pep and cheer (though I do cringe when I hear her open up her squawky little cakehole) but it’s derived from being a bit of food purist… I belong to the Anthony Bourdain school of thought that cooking shouldn’t always be about speed! The process is part of the art, and therefore also part of the enjoyment! Not that I don’t pump out some quick meals when need be… I guess just having an entire cooking show dedicated to the idea that we are all too busy to make ourselves dinner has always just rubbed me the wrong way…

And tell her to get her stupid head off my box of Triscuits!
