this should be called the slackfactor

yeah yeah yeah, I know I know. I haven’t been blogging. Why? I can’t really tell. Life has definitely been super busy, that’s for sure. factor’s parents came to town one weekend. I think that was last weekend. Then, on Thursday was my first assignment as gal Friday at the Friar’s Club of NY. And let me just tell you, that deserves its own post, and it might get it. that very same night, Factor’s sister and fiance (her fiance, not his), were flying in surprise-style. So on top of being all nervous about my first paid blogger assignment, I was also all gerked up about the surprise and the whole birthday weekend in general. for real. I came home from the whole shebanger and then we headed out to dinner at Telephone Bar.
Friday was work for me and factor and then off to Park Slope to meet up with friends who just bought their place. I won’t even comment on how jealous I am that people younger than me now own a place in BK, and still can afford to go out to dinner and make trips here and there. I knew I was doing something wrong financially, just not HOW wrong. We dined at Bar Toto, which was really great, and had the typical group dinner altercations. I mean, who worries about inconveniencing restaurants by asking for separate checks? I used to wait tables, and sometimes, that was way better. Anyway. We got separate checks and it was still odd. Made it home late Friday night and I think we all watched TV, i can’t remember.
Saturday morning was breakfast at Around the Clock and then shopping around. I had a PMS explosion when I realize the spanx I bought were not opaque (seriously? transparent footless spanx? get with the program). Either way, I still looked like a total hoss and I have the picture to prove it. no, fuck you, I mean it - I looked like a mustard dispenser life size. don’t tell me I’m crazy, I see the mirror, I feel the rolls, I’m a fat ass.
Saturday night was the surprise 30th birthday dinner, followed by a random and hilarious limo ride consisting of me yelling out the window “Staten Island Pregnant Prom ‘08! Rock out with your fetus out!” and other such one liners. People kept laughing so i was ridiculously encouraged. We ended up at venue #2 which was “rehab” and that was SO MUCH FUN. So weird, weird people, weird music, super freakin’ hot to the point where my hair wouldn’t dry, and just good times. Factor acted a total fool (but not in a bad way)(ok, on the way home he was really annoying), and everyone had a really good time. Well, I did.
Oh. We had a surprise guest who projectile vomited all over the bathroom (from a bad taco, not from drinking) - literally spraying honk all over the place. So I was up until 5am cleaning THAT up, using q tips at one point for the tomato and guac balls in the nooks and crannies. Poor thing. My heart goes out to pukers, you just hate feeling like that.
Sunday was hangover time, but we still managed to get some grub and hit Max Brenner the chocolate ass restaurant. Never again. blech. It was a freaking great weekend. So much fun, great people around. and I’m still tired I think.
Um, I don’t think the puker is the ‘poor thing’. You are being way too nice about cleaning up someone else’s vomit!
if it had been from drinking, I would have been sort of pissed because I’m too old for that - but the poor thing had a good ole fashioned bad taco - and I know when I puke, all I want to do is cry and have someone take care of me. I figure of all the dumbass non excusable times people have cleaned me up when I was too old for that crap - this was a slight piece of retribution.
I call her bluff…projectile vomit def. was from drinking! Sorry to call anyone out…BUT we all ate the same taco mess from the same place. Now you can be pissed that you cleaned up extremely early hangover puke! And thank god you did, b/c everyone knows that smelling projectile vomit makes me vomit.
i’m sad to have missed the festivities…projectile vomit and all.
oh honey, it was a grand time — which we’ll have to recreate when you’re back or when we’re back!
